Kelley Drisko has provided library services at Gilbert School in Augusta for 16 years. She has a teaching certificate in language arts and social studies, and taught high school English for 16 years.
Chris Fricke has been a school librarian for 25 years in Indiana, Vermont and Maine. She has also taught French at both the elementary and high school levels. She currently is an elementary librarian in Portland.
Mary Hazelton, Committee Chair, has been an elementary school librarian at Miller School in Waldoboro and Warren Community School in Warren in SAD 40 for the past ten years. In a previous life, she worked as a special education teacher and Director for many years. She is a regular reviewer for School Library Journal.
Myrna Koonce, Committee Secretary, teaches nursery school in Harpswell and community college classes in South Portland and Auburn. Prior to that, she co-directed the Born to Read program at the Maine Humanities Council, and was a Head Start center director and administrator.
Melissa Madigan is in her fifth year as the Children and Youth Services librarian at Merrill Library in Yarmouth. Prior to that, she was a teacher for 20 years.
Susan Pease, Committee Treasurer, is the coordinator of the elementary school libraries for the Auburn School District. In past years, she has been the head of the children's department at the Lewiston Public Library and she started her library career in children's services at the Boston Public Library. In addition, Susan is a storyteller.
Fran Sheehy-Palmer Sheehy has worked as an elementary school librarian in Maine for the past four years. Previously, she worked with adults and children in public libraries in Massachusetts and Maryland. She received her MLIS from The Catholic University of America in Washington, DC.
Jennifer Stanbro is an elementary school librarian in the South Portland School District. Previously she worked as a technology instructor and consultant for K-8 schools in Maryland and Texas. She holds a masters degree in library science from Texas Women's University and a masters of liberal arts degree from St. John's College in Annapolis, Maryland.
Kathy Stevens emigrated from England in 1966 and settled first in Biddeford and then Saco. She holds a BS in library science from UMA and an MLIS from Drexel University. She has worked as a library Ed Tech at Saco Middle School. For the past year she has been the Youth Services Librarian at Baxter Memorial Library in Gorham.
Lynn Young is currently librarian and technology assistant for the Drowne Road School in Cumberland. She has a B.S. in Child Development, having taught elementary grades in Maine and Vermont and also previously a Training Specialist for L.L. Bean. Her current project is developing a library for the Skyline Farm Museum in North Yarmouth, Maine.
